Main duties of department:

• Takes proposal for supervision plan of precious metal enterprises.
• Supervise legal regulations relating to precious metal articles; in cooperation with National Tax and Guard Office.
• Performs official procedure in case of irregularity discovered during the field inspection.
• Make precious metal articles intended for sale and not complying with legal requirements ineligible for marketing.
• Prepare expert opinion regarding to determine type, fineness of precious metal articles and to establish originality of applied marks.
• Performs field inspection respecting the activity of anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism in accordance with Act CXXXVI of 2007 on the Prevention and Combating of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing.
• Carry out the examining equivalency procedure of hallmarking.
• Takes proposal for new hallmarks and for the modification of existing hallmarks.
• Provides for producing the leader tool of the hallmark, and for preparing of electronic data of laser hallmark.
• Make out the certificate in the event the hallmark cannot be applied in the precious metal article for whatever reason.
• Takes imprint from responsibility mark and performs the digitalization of the mark.
